PREPARING FOR CLASS

  1. If you are new to yoga and/or location, please arrive at least 15 minutes before your class, so that you can sign up for the class, ask any questions that you may have and prepare for your class.

  2. Yoga is practiced barefeet, no sneakers, no socks. Wear clothing that is comfortable to move, stretch and sweat in. Bring a hand towel, especially if you can get a healthy sweat on! :-)

  3. Bring water and keep hydrated, especially if you are practicing outside or taking a more vigorous class. Avoid caffeinated products (including green and black teas) a few hours prior to any class. Caffeine dehydrates the body, can increase the heart rate, making it difficult to relax and regulate your breath.

  4. Some students prefer to practice with an empty stomach, while others may want a snack prior to class. If you do chose to take a snack, do so at least 2-3 hours before class and make it a light combination of carbohydrate and protein. Avoid heavy, greasy or spicy meals.

  5. Bring a yoga mat, if you have one. You may want to carry an extra one to support your knees. If you don’t have one, you can use a towel. If you are borrowing a mat, as a courtesy, please wipe any excess sweat on and around your mat. It’s best to invest to in your own.

  6. Yoga props (aids) like blocks, knee pads straps, and bolsters are always encouraged, so please bring them. Ask your yoga teacher what is available, so you can improve your yoga experience.

  7. Come to class with an open heart and mind!
